Alish Kanani received his B.Tech. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur. Prior to joining UW-Madison, he worked at Samsung Electronics on 3D IC test chips as part of the system architecture and RTL design engineering team. He is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Research Focus: Workload scheduling and thermal modeling/management for emerging AI systems, including hybrid Mamba-Transformer LLM acceleration, disaggregated prefill/decode accelerator packages, adaptive expert prefetching for edge MoE inference, and heterogeneous chiplet/PIM architectures.
